Early 3 Squadron Association Get-Togethers

In 1969, here's how 'The Old and The Bold' set up their venue!  (This is a celebration of contribution of AFC aviators to Australian History at the Wynyard Branch of the Bank of NSW, on the 50th Anniversary of the first England-Australia Flight in December 1919.)

Nigel Love (3rd from left) was a 3 Squadron AFC pilot in WWI who went on to launch Australia's first aircraft factory and to found Mascot (Sydney) airport.  Nigel also successfully built up his popular business in the 50's and 60's: Love Bakeries.

2nd from left is Sir Hudson Fysh of 1 Squadron AFC, founder and Chairman of QANTAS.  Far right is Henry "Bunny" Hammond, an Australian pilot who served with 60 RFC Squadron.

Graeme Coates's mother Val (wife of Sid Coates)  found some old photos of  early Association get-togethers and sent them in...

Here's an oldie but a goodie ... taken in the 1960s ... some of the NSW Association members.
Left to right: Bobby Gibbes, Charles Wannan, Lew Ranger, Reg Pfieffer, Jack Donald, Alan Boyd
